4G: Taking The World By Storm With It’s Speed and Benefits

4G is a fairly new concept, being unveiled within the last year to the general public. It leaves its predecessor, 3G, in the dirt. “So what is 4G?” you ask? 4G is a form of wireless internet, with the abbreviation short for “Fourth Generation”. Unlike other internet services, it is a wireless connection. 4G is commonly associated with cell phones and tablets, but that is not its only use. With the wide availability of 4G service, it is quickly becoming a top connection choice for 4G compatible device owners.

Whether you are making conference calls, downloading applications, sharing videos or photos, or you just want to browse the web faster, 4G is the fastest connection available.

4G Allows You To Get More, Faster.

With 4G, you get much faster internet service. You might think that 4G is much of a step up from 3G, but you would be completely fooled. 4G is, on average, anywhere from four times to six times faster than 3G service; pretty incredible for a simple upgrade from 3 to 4. You can expect to transfer data at a rate of around 100 Mbps (Megabytes Per Second).

If you have a tendency to record movies and upload them to YouTube, are a photography fanatic and love to constantly share photos on Facebook, or if you must constantly download and upload documents or music? These speeds are the best you can get.

What Can We Use With 4G Service?

Of course, smart phones are the first devices to come to mind when you mention 4G. However, Smart phones are not the only devices that can run excessively fast on 4G. Many people are buying Tablets and iPads; and 4G is also compatible with these devices. Well, your device must clearly be 4G compatible, which you can find out very easily. If your phone was sold to you with 4G capabilities, then your device is compatible. If not, and your device is 3G or lower, you will not be able to upgrade it. This is an unfortunate downfall with the release of 4G technology, as everyone is after it. Other devices, such as laptops and home computers, can also utilize 4G speeds.

Many companies such as Verizon and AT&T offer 4G packages for phones, tablets, and computers. However, computer access requires a USB insert that transmits your data through the provider’s network. This means you can use the 4G network as a home internet service, and be able to download music, movies, and documents, or even hold conference calls online, with plenty of speed.

4G’s full capabilities and positive potential have not quite been realized, and there may be many more exciting uses for it in the future. Its speed is truly incredible, and it can be used with any compatible device or home computer. It is suspected that as 4G becomes more common and widely available, it may have the potential to begin competing heavily with DSL/Cable internet providers, and satellite internet providers. It could begin a revolution similar to that of cellular phones; Landlines have become nearly obsolete.
